We have so many pictures to share with everyone we have upgraded our Flickr account to a Pro account! This allows us to add many more photos and organize them so that they are easier for you to look through.

November Meeting

We’ve moved!

Well, our webpage has moved.

At our last meeting a decision was made to move to a new server, so we’ve moved and have a new look and new page. As a result if you had signed up previously as a member of the page you will need to sign up here again if you wish to leave comments on stories, pages, or posts.

Also as a result some of our files aren’t up to date yet. We will be adding PDF files and links to images as we have time. All of our content is still here. A decision is yet to be made on the history questionnaire, but we do have the results from those of you who already filled it out and submitted it.

Now that you’ve enjoyed the materials that we’ve collected perhaps you’d be willing to share. You can scan pictures and email them while still keeping your original, of course, we’d accept your paper copies too. You can send an e-mail to muriel2@cox.net.

December Historical Society Meeting

The December meeting has been rescheduled for December 9, 4:00pm. We will be discussing the possible February dinner and auction. We need volunteers for this fundraiser, as it’s going to be our biggest one yet, so if anyone would like to help out in any way, please come to the meeting or contact a member of the Society.

New Photo Gallery Started

As of the last meeting it was decided to use a photo gallery package that was more user friendly.

Flickr, http://www.flickr.com/ was suggested.

I’ve set up a flickr account and started to upload and categorize images.

Spread the Word!

Please help spread the word about the St. George Historical Society! Due to exceptionally low turnouts at the past few meetings, we’ve had to forego fundraisers since Fun Day in August; and we were undermanned then, too. We simply do not have the volunteers to help put on events. St. George is a small town, so we’re not expecting a huge turnout at meetings, but, if you don’t have anything planned for November 4, at 4:00pm please stop by St. George Elementary room #112. As of the October meeting, no fundraisers have been scheduled due to limited manpower.

October’s meeting will be in Room 112 of St. George Elementary. We will be kicking around ideas for an October fundraiser (perhaps something around Halloween), and discussing a Historical Society newsletter, so come with ideas!
